STRATEGIC LAND USE
Development Control Guidelines for the Rous Water Catchment Area
Innovation Planning was engaged by Rous Water to prepare development control guidelines for the Rous Water supply catchment area, which includes the LGAs of Lismore, Ballina, Byron and Richmond Valley.
The purpose of this project was to create guidelines for land use and development that would protect the quality of the water catchments to help ensure the continuation of sustainable supply from existing surface water and ground water sources. Innovation Planning also wrote referral clauses for inclusion in the constituent Council Local Environmental Plans, which trigger the involvement of Rous Water in the development assessment process.
Other strategic land use projects we have prepared include:
- Design Guide for Rural-Residential Subdivisions in the Sydney Drinking Water Catchments (with Hyder Consulting)
- Successful proposal for land rezoning and release of 50-lot residential subdivision at Old Northern Road, Castle Hill (with Bowdens Group)
- Land capability assessment for 150 hectares at Bark Hut Road, Woolgoolga, including GIS assessment, constraints analysis, identification of suitable densities and preferred zoning.
