BASIX CERTIFICATION AND THERMAL PERFORMANCE

A BASIX Certificate is required to accompany the development application for every new residential development in NSW, as well as alterations and additions to existing dwellings. The BASIX Certificate represents a commitment by the developer to meet minimum standards in water efficiency, energy efficiency and thermal comfort.

The certificate is prepared using an online tool at www.basix.nsw.gov.au.

For multi-dwelling developments including dual occupancies, specialised software is required to complete the thermal comfort section of BASIX. Innovation Planning Australia has staff accredited by ABSA (Association of Building Sustainability Assessors) for conducting thermal performance assessments using the software BERS Pro.

We work in close consultation with our clients to achieve BASIX requirements in a cost effective way that best meets the client's needs.
